Vacation Rental & Airbnb Management in Lake County, FL

Lake County lies west of Orlando, and Clermont is the Lake County city we cover on this site. Clermont runs a detailed vacation rental permit program, with inspections, a yearly September 30 renewal and a 60-minute response rule, so we build the permit file before a home is listed. Outside city limits we check zoning and HOA rules parcel by parcel, then set the home up for short, mid-term or annual rentals.

Why Lake County

Clermont's Waterfront Park on Lake Minneola hosts festivals such as Pig on the Pond, triathlons, a dragon boat festival and a regatta, and the paved Clermont/Minneola Trail connects to the West Orange Trail. Lake Louisa State Park on U.S. 27 rents cabins on Dixie Lake, and the Clermont Performing Arts Center hosts shows through the year.

Local vs. national

The Lake County advantage: local knowledge at every level

A national platform prices Lake County from a spreadsheet and sends whoever is free to turn the unit. We work it address by address: which city or county code applies, which tax accounts the stay needs, and our own cleaning and maintenance staff on every turnover, with guests able to reach us 24/7.

Regulatory compliance

Lake County short-term rental rules

Clermont requires a city vacation rental permit before a home in residential zoning is advertised for short stays, with an inspection, a September 30 expiry, a representative who can reach the home within 60 minutes, an occupancy limit of two per sleeping room plus up to four children under 13, and listings that show the DBPR and city permit numbers. We found no separate vacation rental ordinance in Lake County's own code, so outside the cities the state DBPR license, county tax account and zoning apply.

Always confirm the latest rules with the relevant local authority before listing — we'll point you to exactly what applies to your property.

Common questions

Lake County STR management — FAQs

What tourist tax does Lake County charge?

Lake County levies a 4% tourist development tax on stays of six months or less, collected by the county, according to the DOR DR-15TDT chart. Florida's 6% sales tax and Lake County's 1% discretionary sales surtax (DR-15DSS, 2026) apply as well.

Do Clermont vacation rentals need a city permit?

Yes. Clermont Code §125-587 requires a vacation rental permit before the home is advertised, renewed each year by September 30, and the permit is void if the home is sold.

Does a vacation rental in Lake County need a state license?

Yes. A home rented more than three times a year for under 30 days is a transient public lodging establishment and needs a license from the DBPR Division of Hotels and Restaurants under Florida Statutes §509.241.
