Vacation Rental & Airbnb Management in Charlotte County, FL
Charlotte County wraps around Charlotte Harbor, from Punta Gorda on the Peace River to the western shore that takes in part of Englewood and Manasota Key. Many rental homes are canal houses with pools and docks in communities such as Punta Gorda Isles and Burnt Store Isles. We run them as short-term, monthly or long-term rentals, and check deed restrictions and association rules before any listing.

Regulatory compliance
Charlotte County short-term rental rules
We have not verified a Charlotte County or City of Punta Gorda ordinance that registers or limits vacation rentals, so we describe none. The state baseline applies: a DBPR vacation rental license, and §509.032(7)(b), which bars local bans and limits on rental duration or frequency adopted after June 1, 2011. Deed restrictions and association documents can still restrict rentals, and we read them for each address.
Always confirm the latest rules with the relevant local authority before listing — we'll point you to exactly what applies to your property.

Charlotte County STR management — FAQs
What is the Charlotte County tourist development tax?
Charlotte County's tourist development tax is 5% on rentals of six months or less, added to the 6% state sales tax and any surtax. The county collects it itself, according to the Department of Revenue's DR-15TDT.
Does Charlotte County require a vacation rental registration?
We have not verified a county vacation rental registration program. Every short-term rental still needs a Florida DBPR license and tax accounts with the state and with Charlotte County for the tourist tax.
Which part of Englewood is in Charlotte County?
Englewood is unincorporated and split between Sarasota and Charlotte counties, including on Manasota Key. The parcel's tax record shows the county, and that decides which tourist tax rate applies: 5% in Charlotte, 6% in Sarasota.
